Lahaina Return

West Maui to Oahu via North shore of Molokai

Depart out of West Maui and sail northwest towards Mokuho'oniki across the Pailolo Channel. Sail between the east side of Molokai and Kanahä Rock located on the Northeast corner of the island. Turn west and enjoy the first bay along the North shore of Molokai. Pull into Halawa Valley amongst the cliffs enjoy the two shimmering Moa`ula and Hipuapua falls, 250 and 500 feet. Continue along the coastline past Wailua Valley which features numerous waterfalls the highest falling from 4,970 feet. One of the most majestic waterfalls featured in the Hawaiian islands is Papalua falls dropping from 1,200 feet into a lush green valley below. Turn downwind along the sheer cliff coastline. Take respite and enjoy lunch in Ha'upu Bay. The bay features a house on the hill along with numerous rock formations and a hidden cove sporting a waterfall emerging from a puka in the rock formation. Set sail and cruise between Mökapu Island and Okala Island before continuing past Kalapapa and Father Damien's Leper Colony. Bask in the sun for the rest of this downwind sail to Oahu across the Ahua Channel. Enjoy some trolling for Mahi Mahi, Ono, ahi, and striped marlin along Penguin Banks. Round Koko head and sail along the southern coast of Oahu enjoying the sunset off Diamond Head and Waikiki before pulling into the harbor to conclude this 8-12hour transit from west Maui to Honolulu.

Maui - Lanai

2 Days 1 night Maui around Lanai

Depart out of West Maui and sail along the North Shore of Lanai. Bask in the sun as you sail towards Shipwreck beach. Shipwreck beach gained its name from numerous vessel running aground on its numerous reefs. Most Notably in 1824 British vessel, Alderman Wood, and American Vessel, London, met there ends. Shipwreck beach is the home of 1 of 22 liberty ship oilers that was built around World War II. The ferrous-concrete oiler was intentionally grounded as an economical means of disposal after the war. Turn on the margarita machine as you continue along the coast. Turn the corner along the north west corner of Lanai to sheer cliff blue water of the leeward side of Lanai. Enjoy Lunch and snorkeling in the afternoon at Nanahoa anchorage or Five needles. Five needles provides great snorkeling and diving. Bring your water shoes with you as you board the tender to bring you to the pinnacles for a little exploration along the rocky coastline. In the evening continue along the west side of the island of Lanai cruising 100 feet offshore along the 500 foot sea cliffs along the southwest side of the island. Spend the evening in Sharks cove. In the morning awake to snorkeling and wildlife watching after breakfast. Sharks cove bears its name from a rock in the northern section of the bay that resembles a sharks fin. Mid morning sail along the south side of Lanai towards the Four Seasons Resort at Manele bay. Either disembark the vessel at Malele Bay or continue on the vessel back towards West Maui for the conclusion of this trip.

Maui - Molokai - Lanai

4 Days 3 Nights Maui around Molokai and Lanai

This trip is a combination of the Lahaina Return and Maui - Lanai with more off the beat and path anchorages and exploration. Stop at a few anchorages on Maui, Molokini, and the North Shore of Molokai.

Maui- Honolua Bay- Located on the Northwest corner of Maui Honolua bay provides and abundance of sea turtles, snorkeling, and an epic view of the Honolua surf break from the comfort of this flat bay.
Maui- Olowalu -Olowalu anchorages is located off the west side of Maui 2 miles south of Lahaina. Featuring great snorkeling and diving amongst the colorful coral and Hawaiian reef fish.
Mokokini- Molokini Crater- Formally a bombing range, Molokini crater is now a bird sanctuary. restricted from going ashore the crater offers great snorkeling and diving along the inner and outer walls of the crater and an interesting bird watching location.
North Shore of Mokokai- Some of the most adventurist anchorages on the Hawaiian islands are located on the north shore of Molokai. The awe of the north shore is considered be many to be a spiritual place. These anchorages are best in the summer when there is limited north swell on lighter trade wind days. Get off the boat on the north shore and hike up various streams to tide pools and waterfalls. Explore various caves and debris fields.
